TYPE GRAY EXTREME: INTUITION

Intuition (iN)

While spending more time alone with your thoughts will allow you to “hear” your intuition, you also need to be focusing on being more open to experiences too. Like we talked about before, openness to experience refers to your ability to be creative, spontaneous, adventurous, and innovative.

hourlyBut this doesn’t mean you should sit back and wait for these opportunities to present themselves. Nope, you need to be seeking out new experiences as often of you possibly can. I’m talking about new experiences daily, even hourly if possible.

These new experiences will allow your intuition to flourish along with your psychic skills. Because you will have so many experiences with your psychic intuition you will be able to act on your impressions more often and get a very good sense for which impressions are psychic and which are just your subconscious mind doing guesswork in the background.

verbsKeep in mind though, when I say that you need to be more creative, spontaneous, adventurous, and innovative, I’m not just suggesting that you try to “be more creative in your day-to-day.” No, I mean that you need to become more creatively active. We’re not talking adjectives here, we’re talking verbs.

Action is required and it will be two-sided. On the one side you’ll be exercising your creativity by trying to think of ways to keep having new experiences. Creating a strategy for a constant supply of new experiences is a major challenge in a mainly routine world. On the other side, you’ll be exercising your openness to experiences in general by exploring those new experiences.

Ways to be more creative can include drawing, painting, coloring, designing, or decorating. As long as it’s not a routine effort, you’ll keep things new and fresh.

creativewritingGet involved in creative writing. Whether it’s just for fun or you want to make a few bucks selling your short stories, it’s avoiding writer’s block that is the real challenge. Not sure what to write about? Well, keeping yourself open to experiences should keep you full of ideas, but there are little tricks you can use when all else fails.

One example is to pick a random number (let’s pick 45), grab two books and turn to page 45 in each book. Now, pick a number between 1 and 10 (let’s say 5). Go to line or paragraph 5 in both books and form a story out of those two lines or paragraphs.

This is just one example, there are also random word and paragraph generators online too. Inspiration can come from just about anywhere, you just have to remain open to seeing, hearing, and being aware of them AND exploring them.

You can also sketch or draw your story, paint your story, create a mind map of your thoughts about a story (we’ll get into how to do this in the next chapter), make a collage of your story with clippings from the newspaper or magazines, or even build something to represent your story whether it be a clay sculpture or something less artsy like breaking out a box of Legos.

inventsomethingIf the story is about a problem, try inventing something to solve that problem; whether the solution is an idea, strategy, or involves actually building a physical invention. The possibilities are endless, and so are your sources of inspiration.THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS, AND SO ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION.

Engage in physical activities (exercise) where you change up the routine everyday by adding new exercises or exercising in different places (example: go for walks places you have never been before, map it out online or through an app before you go). Get a close friend involved, you can take turns coming up with new exercises or places to go (think nature, think outdoors).
