Practicing GRATITUDE involves  simply reflecting on the things in life you are thankful for. Doing this not only helps you form a deeper connection with the universe, yourself, and other people, but it will also lead to:

  • Having more positive emotions and perspectives.
  • Feeling more alive and removing the need for sensation seeking; like looking for excitement often through risky behavior because you feel emotionally or creatively numb.
  • Improved quality of sleep and strengthen your immune system.
  • Increase empathy and your natural ability to feel compassion and show kindness.

You’ll learn all about practicing gratitude and loving-kindness meditation in the next course. But for now:

  • Close your eyes.
  • Take 5 very slow, deep breaths.
  • Think about the things you are grateful for today.
  • Say that you are thankful for these things aloud (Example: “I am grateful that I have a roof over my head and a warm bed at night.”).
