ILLUSIONS #4, 5, 6

Suggestion#4:

Avoid considering a guess a prediction if that “prediction” came true because you made it happen.

For example, if you convince yourself that you are going to fail horribly at that job interview tomorrow, psych yourself up, don’t sleep well because you’re all psyched up, and walk into the job interview exhausted, freaked out, and with a completely negative perception of yourself – the job interviewer is going to see an exhausted, nervous wreck that is real “Debbie Downer” and not hire you.

negative

Now, if you go home and find out later that you did not get the job, DO NOT turn around and say “I knew it, I predicted this, I predicted that I would fail miserably at the job interview and not get the job!” THIS IS NOT PRECOGNITION, this is what’s called a self-fulfilling prophecy, and it’s an illogical, and purely psychological, error in judgment.

Suggestion #5:

Unless you write a precognitive dream down in detail and it comes true in that same detail, avoid labeling it as “psychic.”

When you don’t write down a precognitive dream in detail and then it later “comes true,” your mind can EASILY play tricks on you and make you forget about all the inconsistencies and focus only on the details that match up. So, WRITE IT DOWN.

confirmationbiasSuggestion#6:

Avoid only paying attention to the psychic predictions you get right.

You also need to pay attention to the psychic predictions you get wrong, or you’re only hurting yourself.

If you write down all the psychic predictions you have that come true, you also have to write down all the psychic predictions that don’t come true.

Otherwise, you’re falling into the trap of confirmation bias, where you only remember being right, but never wrong, and may end up convincing yourself that some chance experiences are actually psychic. You can learn from your mistakes, but if you ignore your mistakes, you’ll struggle to increase the quality of your predictions.
