The following are general protective factors that have more to do with your environment or surrounding conditions.

  1. happyfamilyYou had a happy and healthy childhood. You were loved, had everything that you needed, and grew up well adjusted. You have no history of physical, mental, or emotional abuse or neglect.
  2. Your parents were happily married and never separated. You had a lot of support from family members and friends growing up, and still do, and were and still are sociable.
  3. You felt safe and secure growing up, and still do, and have no history of traumatic experiences like extreme medical or surgical procedures, war, gang violence, slavery, or terrorism.
  4. You did well in school and have a successful long-term career. You had and still have a stable or steady increase in your financial state and social status, and your basic needs have been and continue to be met (examples: shelter, food, medical care, transportation, etc.).
  5. friendsYou have no history of severe injury or illness and no history of injury or illness of a loved one in your care.
  6. Your friends care about you and accept you for who you are and you either do not have any children, or you have children and can cope well with the stress of raising children.
  7. You can successfully deal with stress in general without the use of alcohol or illegal drugs.
  8. You are regularly involved in activities that result in an altered state of consciousness like meditation, self-hypnosis, qigong, reiki, yoga, and so on.
  9. You have never been, were able to cope well with, or stopped occult practices or rituals when they became stressful or negative.
  10. You have no family history of mental or physical health issues.
  11. You have normal and healthy sleep patterns. You have no problems falling asleep or waking up, falling asleep and waking up at the same time every day/night, sleeping through the night, feeling well-rested upon waking, and mainly have positive dreams.
