The following factors are in relation to the co-occurrence of a mental disorder and extrasensory experiences. Predisposing factors include the following that have existed over an extended period of time, typically with onset during childhood or as a result of a congenital disorder.
Precipitating factors include the following that have occurred very recently due to a distressing and sudden change of course in the individual’s life.
These include changes that can be categorized as a ‘crisis situation’ or as a highly stressful situation that was somewhat or immensely traumatizing to the individual (i.e. mentally and emotionally traumatizing and can include events of actual physical abuse, injury, or illness).

General Factors:
The following is only a summary of these factors. (1-13) & (1-22)
Temperamental. (1) Behavioral inhibition (i.e. a pattern of behavior involving withdrawal, avoidance, fear of the unfamiliar, and over-arousal of the sympathetic nervous system), (2) fear of negative evaluation (i.e. apprehension about other’s evaluations, distress over their negative evaluations, and the expectation that others would evaluate oneself negatively), (3) negative affectivity (i.e. proneness to experiencing negative emotions), (4) anxiety sensitivity (i.e. the disposition to believe that symptoms of anxiety are harmful, (5) harm avoidance (i.e. characterized by excessive worrying; pessimism; shyness; and being fearful, doubtful, and easily fatigued), (6) greater symptom severity (i.e. in psychological or psycho-physiological disorders), (7) prior mental disorders (e.g. depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.), […]
Environmental. (1) Childhood maltreatment, neglect, and adversity, (2) physical assault, abuse, or neglect, (3) sexual assault or abuse, (4) separation (e.g. a child from a parent due to divorce), (5) death of an immediate family member or supportive, or parental figure, (6) social isolation, (7) perceived life threat, […]
Specific Factors:
The following is only a summary of these factors. Each topic contains 20+ factors.
Telepathic Cognition. Includes cases where information is telepathically acquired by the individual originating from a subject because the individual is unable to effectively gather information in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) understand or adapt to people, (2) come to a decision concerning people, (3) quickly make connections between events, information, and people, (4), to receive affirmation from people, (5) rely on improvising and verbal fluency, ( 6) confidently proceed in action, (7) recognize patterns in human behavior, […]
Telepathic Interaction. Includes cases where information is telepathically sent to a subject originating from the individual because the individual is unable to effectively take charge or be in charge of people in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) assist people in understanding and adapting to the individuals needs or goals, (2) assist people in complying with the individuals need for them to act or behave in a specific or generalized manner, (3) achieve immediate results for their efforts, (4) seek solutions to problems, (5) do something hands-on and have physical control over the situation, (6) improvise to achieve a goal, (7) discern people’s attitudes and motivations through subtle social cues as a means to maneuver others to one’s positions, […]
Telepathic Simulation. Involves cases where information is shared telepathically between two or more participants because the individual is unable to share information in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) assist participants in understanding or adapting to the individual’s, or the groups, needs and goals, (2) assist participants in an action towards a goal (i.e. motivation), (3) quickly identify possibilities and opportunities to implement their ideals, (4) be catalysts for implementing ideas, (5) understand people and to help them fulfill their potential, (6) be adaptable, flexible, and openly accepting, (7) be loyal to the individuals and causes of which they deem important, […]
Clairvoyant Cognition. Includes cases where information is clairvoyantly acquired about a person or thing (e.g. an object, event, environment, etc.) by the individual originating from Nature because the individual is unable to effectively gather information in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) understand or adapt to a person, thing, (2) come to a decision involving a person or thing, (3) be clever, quick, ingenious, stimulated, alert, or outspoken, (4) be resourceful in solving new and challenging problems, (5) generate conceptual possibilities and analyze them strategically through precision thinking, (6) identify and analyze the details of complex interrelationships between people, things, and ideas, (7) identify patterns and correlations, […]
Clairvoyant Interaction and Mediumship. Includes cases where information is clairvoyantly acquired by or channeled through the individual originating from a discarnate or other entity because the individual is unable to effectively gather or convey information in a normal capacity. Factors are in the context of a lost loved one and include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) perceive information in order to assist them self or a discarnate loved one in understanding and/or adapting to the loss of a loved one or the loss of physical embodiment (i.e. to console the self or the spirit of a loved one that has passed), (2) perceive information in order to assist them self or a discarnate loved one in coming to a decision regarding the loss of a loved one or the loss of physical embodiment (e.g. if a widow should move on or if a spirit should cross over), (3) be loyal and committed to, (4) care for, be kind to, or remain devoted to, (5) be sensitive to the needs of, (6) be emotionally connected to, (7) be highly empathic towards, […]
Clairvoyant Simulation. Includes cases where an individual’s mental or physical state appears to produce an accommodating effect in Nature, or Nature produces an accommodating effect within itself or the individual to satisfy the needs of the individual participants because the individual is unable to produce an accommodating effect in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in an individual’s ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) understand or adapt to a person or thing (object, event, environment, etc.), (2) effect another person or group of people into understanding or adapting to the individual, (3) develop logical explanations, (4) quiet, contained, flexible, and adaptable, (5) attract helpful people, (6) adapt or accept change, (7) analyze or focus in depth to solve problems, […]
Empathic Cognition. Includes cases where emotional information is clairvoyantly acquired about a group or population of people or other biological organisms (e.g. a familiar group’s collective emotions or large-scale, national or world, emotional events) by the emotional individual originating from Nature because the individual is unable to effectively gather information in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) readily understand or adapt to a group of people or other biological organisms, (2) come to a decision concerning a group of others, (3) enjoy life, relationships, new experiences, and material comforts, (4) work and learn via interaction with others, (5) take a realistic, practical, hands-on and common sense approach to efforts, (6) be flexible, spontaneous (e.g. go with the flow), and live life to the fullest, (7) be congenial, friendly, kind and easygoing, […]
Empathic Simulation and Interaction. Involves cases where emotional information is shared telepathically between two or more participants (i.e. simulation) and cases where emotional information is telepathically sent to a subject originating from the individual (i.e. interaction) because the individual is unable to share emotional information or the individual is unable to effectively take charge or be in charge of others in a normal capacity. Factors include, but are not limited to, the sudden and highly distressing reduction in ability or complete inability, or increased need to (1) assist others in understanding or adapting to the individual’s, or the groups, needs and goals, (2) assist others in an action towards a goal (i.e. motivation) or in complying with the individuals need for them to act or behave in a specific or generalized manner, (3) be tolerant and flexible, (4) analyze situations as a means to reach the core of a problem, (5) act quickly to find and implement a functional solution, (6) understand what makes things work (i.e. how things work), (7) get through large amounts of data to isolate the core of practical problems, […]
