In this paper, Theresa M. Kelly, MsD., addresses Umbrakinesis: the psychical influence of the electromagnetic spectrum including visible light and part of the near-infrared range. In addition, she addresses popular misconceptions in regards to optical cognitive and physiological illusions, the speed of light, gravitational effects, polarization state, and propagation. She addresses limitations of influence including spontaneous emission vs. pair production, and she touches on commonly reported symptomatic effects in regards to experients of umbrakinesis including biophoton emission during injury, and photon absorption.

In addition, she addresses wavelength alteration, biophoton emissions and fields, and practical career applications in regards to umbrakinetic phenomena. (e.g. medical and alternative therapeutic, scientific, technological, and artistic), and discusses therapeutic applications including biophotonic healing, infrared light therapy, visible (colored) light therapy, biophotonic neural silencing, and photonic acupuncture (colorpuncture).

In addition, she addresses experimental applications involving deconstructive and constructive interference, photon release via electron excitation, and photon annihilation via pair production with suggestions on measurement techniques and devices. EXCERPT: "Due to a certain degree of randomness according to the laws of thermodynamics, an irregular reaction of photon suppression is produced void of a physiochemical energy imbalance between the high and low-energy electrons. The weak biophoton suppression produced by experients of umbrakinetic phenomena is also in part hypothesized to be the expression of an overall regulating field within the experient. This annihilation is common among experients of umbrakinetic phenomena, but unlike spontaneous emission, is not common among experients of lumokinetic phenomena. This annihilation is temporary and results in a dark focus region with a halo brighter than surrounding light in the environment. This phenomenon is visually similar to that of an eclipse, though here the moon is the result of the dark focus region rather than pair production. Pair production is the formation or materialization of two particles, in this case, an elementary particle (one negative/electron), and its antiparticle (one positive/positron). This production is the result of a high-energy photon interacting with another photon, whereby allowing the production of an electron [ ... ]"
