Psi phenomena appear to be need-based, suggesting a “requirement” rather than simply a general “desire” or want. Such a need is pertinent to the reception of psi-based information and the possible assimilation of the information along with information gathered via other preconscious processes.
To differentiate between a desire and a requirement, desire in this case is a sense of longing for an outcome. Such a longing is excited by the thought of the outcome, whereby exciting an individual to take action to obtain said outcome (i.e. I want to perform).
Contrastingly, to require an outcome is to identify a necessary obligation, or to identify a necessity arising from the circumstances of a situation (i.e. I have to perform).
