The University of Alternative Studies is an open-access, tuition-free, international higher education institution offering academic second-degree programs, professional certification programs, and introductory courses in Professional Scientific Parapsychology and Paraphysics. UAS was founded in 2009 by philosophy of mind scholar, Theresa M. Kelly, to provide 21st-century cutting-edge psychological and consciousness education to stimulate public interest in the para-sciences, and to support 21st-century psychical research initiatives.
UAS education involves current interdisciplinary research in Parapsychology, Biophysics, Psychology, Neuroscience, and Quantum Physics. UAS is maintained by academic scholars and volunteers with a focus on free education in scientific parapsychology and consciousness studies. Our Educational Opportunities Are Ideal For:
Those who hold degrees (i.e. have had solid training in an established field) who possess strong entrepreneurial skills, immense determination, creativity and resourcefulness, and are looking to direct their current career towards consciousness studies, psychical research, or related consulting or educational initiatives. (The majority of our students hold a master's or doctorate degree in a discipline that is significantly relevant to the para-sciences including psychology, psychiatry, philosophy, alternative medicine, business, physics, anthropology, theology, etc.)
Intelligent layperson's who have a profound interest in the field, who have had persistent personal experiences in regard to one or more topics within the field, are fascinated by the exploration of the full range of human potential, enjoy challenging the current worldview, and desire to understand the “how’s and why’s” of psi processes at the higher education level to improve upon their own experiential skills and/or assist in the improvement of the experiential skills of others for the purposes of personal or professional enrichment (e.g. writers, consultants, educators).How to Enroll:
To enroll in a Professional Certification Program, Introductory Course, or Basic Course, simply scroll down to the program or course of your choice. That's it! To apply for enrollment in one of our Second-Degree Programs, please click on the "Application" box above. Anyone can enroll in UAS courses and programs and receive certificates. However, diplomas are limited to those meeting certain educational criteria.
