When information is <strong>adaptive<\/strong>, it is information that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Helps you in understanding and\/or adapting to a person, object, or event that is emotionally important to you in some way.<\/li>\n<li>Helps another person in understanding and\/or adapting. In any case, you are requesting information because you have an emotional tie to a person, object, or event. This means in order to receive information, the person, object, or event has to \u201cmean\u201d something to you emotionally; where not meeting your needs will have a negative effect on you that will result in some sort of distress.
